Holiday Pics

Here are some more pics that I've been working on this afternoon. I finally got my car out of the snow today, it was buried. Also, Connor went to the park and went sledding for the first time. He wasn't as crazy about it as we would have hoped, but he didn't hate it. Also, Christie and I were able to purchase a new camcorder, so hopefully soon, pending software, I can start posting some video as well as pictures.

A very Orgill Christmas

I've been learning some new stuff on photoshop. You'll note that this background was a tv stand before.

It was a Saturday afternoon. We went to Liberty Park and then had Moochies philly cheestakes. Delish. Grandpa took these pics. Check 'em out.

Movies

The day that I've been waiting for has come at last. He's finally paying attention to movies. I've always wanted to be able to enjoy movies with my children. I'm a big fan of movies, after all I met my wife while working at Blockbuster Video. So, I've been renting them, and borrowing from the library like crazy. Only a couple have actually stuck though. And for the most part, the still need to be cartoons. First it was 'Jungle Book'. He adored it. Then 'Finding Nemo' and right now to coincide with his extreme interest in neigh neigh's, he's very much into 'Spirit'. Wall-E comes out next week and I think we might buy it for him.

This brings up another important matter about movies. The new Star Trek preview will be unveiled tomorrow. I challenge all of you you view it and weigh in. I will post the preview once it's available.

Random pics

Here are a couple of more that I had just lying around. One is of him just chillin' on the couch one day. Another is when we went down to Christie's brother in St. George, and the last is him practicing his somersaults at The Little Gym.

Very first haircut

I felt it was a little late in life to have your first haircut at almost 21 months. But his hair was pretty sparse and thin earlier on. We held off for a long time too because we couldn't bare to cut anything off that could have been reminiscent of when he was a baby. But the time had come, and he was ready, he was looking a little straggly. The lady had Great Clips and was super nice. The instant he sat in that chair though, the lip went down and the tears started to flow. But the lady was experienced and whipped out not one, but two dumm dumm suckers and he was set. We have a baggy of the hair somewhere, I didn't think it would be such a huge deal, but it was actually. So hard to see him grow so dang fast. Every night I tell him to slow it down, I can't keep up with him moving through stages so quickly.

Cascade Springs

Below in the 'Fall' post I mentioned that I would be showing some photos of our trip to Cascade Springs. So, here they are. It was me, Christie, Mother-in-law and the king of toddlers. Weather was really nice, didn't need much to stay warm, and the colors were amazing. This was one of the first rides in the van, so that was fun. I hate the fact that you have to spend 6 dollars every time you want to drive up American Fork canyon, which for me was a lot this year. So next year I think we will by a season pass.

Halloween

I've updated a couple of pictures from Halloween. I was pretty sick that day, had some sort of really nasty cold. Mom and little brudder came to my work around 3 and he was able to go trick or treating. We only did one half of my building, but it took atleast an hour and a half, and by that time we had way more candy than he could ever need in the next year.

After that we went to Christie's Grandma's and hung out and then to my mom's. Here neighborhood had gathered around a bonfire and it was pretty fun. All in all, it was a good Halloween for him. He's starting to understand things a lot more, he quickly caught onto the fact that he wasn't going to be able to indulge in all the candy he stock-piled, and that upset him a bit.

Also, at work I was asked to be in a group costume. See below. We won first place and got a free meal and got to go see Quantum of Solace, which was pretty lame-o, except for the fact that it had a Star Trek preview. During the preview, I nearly fainted.

Fall

It’s been a while since I’ve posted, sorry for that. Couple of things to report on. The van is now in working order and we’ve been cruising all over town with it. Connor has become quite used to it, and I think he’s totally forgotten about the crayon box (Jetta). Christie is coming right along, she’s approaching 7 months this month. She’s still feeling pretty yucky, and we are suspecting that she might have the bêtes. We are going to get that tested this week to know for sure. I was able to feel Taylor last week, just a little bump. Christie said she had the hiccups last night. We were able to go up to cascade springs a couple of weeks ago, and I’ve attached some pictures. Also, Connor and Bailey had a photo shoot in Grammy’s backyard yesterday, but Conn is so hard to shoot, he never smiles, so here’s the best we could get. As soon as I get the time I will post some pics from Connor’s first hair cut and Halloween.

Salt Water Room...

It reminds me of happiness.

It reminds me of like a happy day from my childhood, like you know, that sort of dreamy memory you have that’s not exactly a perfect image, but more of a feeling or emotion. Sort of like a water color-esque representation of a perfect moment in time.

It reminds me of falling in love with Christie and the significance her existence has on me. Her soft skin and face, her big beautiful eyes and how they remind me of a kaleidoscope of quiet intelligence and deep emotion.

“Time together is just never quite enough.
When you and I are alone, I’ve never felt so at home.”

Youtyide?

Last weekend we had a combined birthday celebration for Christie and my Dad. There is a large park right by our house that has a pavilion and a splash pad. Connor usually doesn’t enjoy the splash pad, but with the nephews around he was having a blast. He’s always asking to go outside “youtyide” and that day he got his wish. We played in the sun and at lot’s o’ chicken. Good times where had. Take a look at the pics.

Jack

Tirstie and I got to see Jack last Monday in concert. We were in the front pit area and were super close. This was the first time I wasn't in like the back row of a concert. Jack did a good job, but he's super mellow, I was hoping for a more upbeat performance, but you can tell that he's kind of shy. Either that or high. :) There was a lot of "stuff" at the concert. It was being smoked and passed around right in front of us, crazy. We got to see are old friend Kate there too. Haven't seen here in years! Still same ol' Kate-a-lahara. I am going to officially complain to the legislature or something about the parking situation at USANA. It's completely ridiculous. We left before the encore because I knew it was going to be hell, but we were still stuck motionless for atleast 2 hours. I am never going back there again, they've lost my patronage.

We are old

There are certain milestones in everyone's life, 16 you get a license, 21 you can drink alcohol, etc. But Christie and I have hit a milestone we weren't really looking forward to. It's time to get a mini-van. You hear people say "It's such a pain packing kids into the car." Well, I'm here to tell you, IT IS! This thing has two sliding doors, and one of them is automatic, holy cow what a life saver. So say goodbye to that Jetta, aka the box of crayons. And say hello to the Chevy Venture.

Beautiful boy, Darling boy

Close your eyes,
Have no fear,
The monsters gone,
He's on the run and your daddy's here,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,

Before you go to sleep,
Say a little prayer,
Every day in every way,
It's getting better and better,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,

Out on the ocean sailing away,
I can hardly wait,
To see you to come of age,
But I guess we'll both,
Just have to be patient,
Yes it's a long way to go,
But in the meantime,

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you,
While your busy making other plans,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,
Darling,
Darling,
Darling Connor...

Zoo and Camping

Last weekend we took an excursion to the Zoo. It was blazing hot, but still a little fun. The highlight for me was the bird show. Conn and I went to it and we got to see some pretty cool birds, but the best part was the fact that like 3 different birds flew right over our heads. There was an owl, an eagle, and a hawk. They were literally inches from the top of my head, kinda cool. After that we spent the weekend up at Spruces campground in Big Cottonwood Canyon. That was fun, but a bit trying. It's hard to keep tabs on a little toddler when camping. He got scrapped up quite a bit and actually experienced his first bloody nose. Let me tell you, I won't be going camping again any time soon. Plus the few trips we made up and down the canyon caused him to have some pretty nasty ear infections in both his ears. Right now he's as whiney and clingy than he's ever been, and with mom being totally incompasitated from morning sickness, I doubt this fourth of July weekend is going to be very eventfull. Please see attached for some pictures from the zoo and camping.

Water Baby...

The loverbean enjoyed his official swimming lesson yesterday. He still has a hard time holding his breath. When he goes under his mouth goes super wide and he keeps his eyes open. Kinda funny lookin'. But he's still able to hold his breath for a little while. Also, he got to go off the diving board, with a little help. He's still a little unsure about the whole swimming thing, but by the end of the summer he's going to be an expert swimmer. Michael Phelps watch out! Thanks to Aunt Jenny for taking the pictures.
